On the Cover
Three Pinetree points. The point at the left, found in Woodford Co.,
KY, is a first stage, with absolutely no sharpening. The 4” long
finished Pinetree point at the center, from Lawrence Co., TN. The point
at the right, from Trigg Co., KY, is another first stage that has been
anciently resharpened on one edge. To the eye, it almost resembles a
Dovetail point. Pine Tree points date to the Early Archaic period.
