Fourteen years ago, Ellis Whitt published, Extraordinary Fluted Points
of the Tennessee Valley Region. In this new volume he explores the
little known “Clifton Blades” which are found in a relatively
small area of Tennessee and Alabama. They are large, Late Woodland,
teardrop blades that are finely made from a distinctive chert. This
publication documents all of the known blades with excellent, large
color photos. Ellis shares the majority of the known articles from
various publications discussing and/or picturing these blades.
