A remarkable humped gorget made from galena that has been
wonderfully polished. It was found in Wayne County, Kentucky, in 2006.
It measures 5 inches in length and is perforated on both ends. It is
thought these gorgets were a form of an atlatl weight, but their true
function
remains unknown. Collection of Steve Burks, Monticello, Kentucky

This Archaic period tube pipe was found on February 13,
2019 by Bryan Bodner while hunting an old creek bed beneath a rock
shelter in Boyle County, Kentucky. Inside of the pipe was a rounded
pebble (shown
in the picture) that served as the “plug” when smoking. These
are rarely found in association with tube pipes. The pipe measures
4 inches in length and is made from a high grained sandstone. Collection
of Bryan Bodner, Danville, Kentucky
