On the Cover
One of the finest, if not the finest Southern perforated Spatulate.
Found in Bartow County, Georgia and made of the preferred veined fine grained
Greenstone. Originally collected by a director of the Heye Foundation, later cabineted
by Tommy Beutell and C.H.Baggerley III. Notice the wide band on the stem
portion that clearly shows ancient hafting of this artifact.
