The Seven Ages Audio Journal Podcast was started in January 2018 by Jason
Pentrail and Micah Hanks.
The idea began around several late-night conversations between Micah and
I as we discussed various historical mysteries and prominent archaeological
sites around the world. Micah, being a professional podcaster, researcher,
and historian, had the knowledge, equipment and drive to make the show a
reality. I on the other hand provided the background knowledge in archaeology
and anthropology to help focus on meaningful topics and a wide array of guests.
Soon the podcast went from a hopeful idea to a foundational program in the
world of history, archaeology, and anthropology.
From humble beginnings I began to reach out to a variety of well-known names
in the world or archaeology and anthropology. Understandably, many of these
early potential guests were hesitant to take part in a newly minted podcast
for fear of association with fringe topics, unprofessional show quality and
a variety of other justified fears. With a solid foundation of credentials
between Micah and I we decided to add an additional member to our team. Enter
James Waldo. James was a listener and lover of various podcasts and happened
to be a professional geologist with a great personality and wide array of
knowledge. He accepted our invitation to join the Seven Ages team and we
all became fast friends.
