What is it?

Recently I was hunting a creek in Fayette County, Illinois. I found a very interesting shell artifact (Fig. 1). It is obviously worked and appears to be a gouge, scoop or some kind of pottery tool. It measures 4 inches in length. I took it to the Springfield, Illinois show, and those who saw it were surprised, as they had not ever viewed another quite like it. Within thirty feet of where I found it, I also found three points and a cupped hammerstone (Fig. 2). If any of the readers have any thoughts about these, please let me know.
