Edward Waldron Payne(1857-1932) assembled the largest collection ever of
Indian Artifacts. Numbering over one hundred thousand fine artifacts,
his death resulted in the greatest artifact sale of all time. This photograph
of Payne is from his posthumous published autobiography, The Immortal
